Chennai's Dedicated Developmental & Hearing Care Centre
Building Speech, Behaviour, Hearing, and Life Skills
One Family at a Time
RISE Development and Hearing Care Centre: Chennai’s dedicated centre for developmental, behavioural, and hearing care, built on structured assessment and Evidence.
About RISE
RISE Development and Hearing Care Centre
RISE brings together two areas of clinical practice that families often need at the same time: child development therapy and audiology. A child with delayed speech may have an underlying hearing concern. An older adult adjusting to hearing loss may also need guidance on communication at home. Treating these as connected, rather than separate, is the basis for how RISE is structured.
Our mission is to empower individuals to build brighter futures through professional developmental and hearing care
Sessions
Our Experts
Meet Our Therapist & Audiologist
RISE clinical team holds formal qualifications across speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, applied behaviour analysis, special education, and audiology. All clinicians are trained in evidence-based practices and work across both the development and hearing care sides of the centre, with direct case coordination when a child’s needs span both disciplines.

The centre is led by R. Praveena, a Speech Language Pathologist registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India and a BCaBA certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board of the USA, with over 21 years of clinical experience. She is among only two dual-certified professionals in India holding both qualifications. Her practice spans autism spectrum disorder, hearing impairment, stuttering, and motor speech disorders, with a particular focus on integrating speech therapy with behavioural techniques.
OUR SERVICES
Our Comprehensive
Child Development & Hearing Care Services
Discover our complete range of child development therapies, developmental assessments, hearing evaluations, diagnostic audiology, and hearing aid solutions. Our multidisciplinary team delivers personalized, evidence-based care to support communication, learning, hearing, and overall well-being for children and adults.
Speech & Language Therapy
Speech and language development follows a broadly predictable timeline. When a child falls behind that timeline, whether in producing sounds, forming words, or understanding what is said to them, a structured assessment identifies exactly where the gap is. Therapy addresses delayed speech onset, unclear articulation, language comprehension difficulties, and fluency disorders such as stuttering. Sessions are built around the child’s specific delay profile, not a standard programme applied uniformly across cases.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy supports children who find everyday tasks disproportionately difficult. This includes children with sensory processing difficulties, where the brain struggles to organise sensory input correctly, and those with fine motor delays affecting writing, drawing, or self-care tasks like dressing and eating. Therapy uses targeted exercises and sensory integration techniques, calibrated to the child’s current functional level and adjusted as progress is made.
Behaviour Therapy (ABA)
Applied Behaviour Analysis breaks down skills into small, teachable steps and uses systematic reinforcement to build positive behaviour patterns. At RISE, ABA is delivered by practitioners supervised by a BCaBA credentialled by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board of the USA. The approach is used primarily for children with autism spectrum disorder, though it is also relevant for other behavioural and learning profiles.
Special Education
Not every child learns effectively within a standard classroom format. Special education at RISE provides individualised academic instruction for children who need a modified pace, a different teaching method, or an adjusted curriculum to make meaningful progress. These sessions typically run alongside mainstream schooling rather than replacing it, with goals coordinated with the child’s school where possible.
School Readiness Program
Starting school is a significant transition, and some children need structured preparation before they are ready for it. The programme builds foundational skills a classroom demands: sustaining attention, following multi-step instructions, understanding basic pre-academic concepts, and managing the social dynamics of a group setting. It is typically recommended for children approaching school age who show gaps in one or more of these areas.
Social Skills Training
Social skills are learned, not simply acquired through exposure. For children who struggle with turn-taking, reading social cues, initiating conversations, or managing peer conflict, structured practice makes a measurable difference. Training is delivered in small group settings so children apply what they are learning with real peers in real time, rather than only in one-to-one scenarios.
Pediatric Hearing Evaluation
Standard audiometry cannot always be reliably administered to young children, since the test requires a level of cooperation that younger children may not yet have. RISE uses age-appropriate testing methods adapted to the child’s developmental stage
Adult Hearing Evaluation
A detailed audiometric assessment for adults noticing gradual or sudden changes in their hearing. Results are mapped across the full speech frequency range, identifying precisely where hearing loss is present and to what degree The evaluation forms.
Electrophysiological Tests
Objective, non-behavioural tests including BERA, ASSR, OAE, and ECochG, used when standard audiometry is not sufficient or not possible. These tests measure the auditory system’s response without requiring active participation from the patient.
Audiometry Test
Pure tone audiometry maps the softest sounds a patient can detect at each frequency across the speech range. It is the standard starting point for most hearing evaluations and forms the basis for any fitting decision The test is non-invasive takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
Tympanometry Test
Measures how well the eardrum and middle ear are functioning by assessing eardrum movement in response to controlled air pressure changes. Often conducted alongside audiometry to identify middle ear conditions such as fluid accumulation, perforation, or Eustachian.
Tinnitus Assessment
An evaluation for patients experiencing persistent ringing, buzzing, or hissing sounds with no external source. Tinnitus can range from mildly distracting to significantly disruptive in daily life. The assessment identifies the characteristics of the tinnitus, rules out underlying conditions.
Vertigo Assessment
Diagnostic testing for patients experiencing dizziness or balance disturbances linked to the inner ear. The vestibular system, which governs balance and spatial orientation, shares anatomy with the auditory system, so both are frequently assessed together.
Trial & Fittings
Finding the right hearing aid is only half the step. We walk you through a structured three-phase process: assessment and device selection, precision fitting and calibration, and a real-world trial before you commit. Every device is programmed to your audiogram.
HEARING AIDS
Our Affordable Hearing Aids
Hearing aids at RISE Hearing Aid Centre are fitted after a complete audiological evaluation, not selected from a display shelf. The range covers every major technology type, form factor, and special-use category, so the recommendation is always driven by the patient’s hearing profile and daily lifestyle rather than availability.
WHY WE
Why Choose RISE
Experienced Audiologists and Therapists
- Experienced Audiologists and Therapists
Every clinician at RISE holds formal qualifications in their specific discipline, with the founding team bringing over 21 years of direct clinical practice. Credentials are not listed as background detail; they define who sees each patient and how their case is managed.
Advanced Diagnostics Technology
- Advanced Diagnostics Technology
From pure tone audiometry to electrophysiological testing, diagnostic tools at RISE are selected based on the patient’s age and clinical presentation. No single test is applied uniformly across all cases.
Evidence-Based Interventions
- Evidence-Based Interventions
Therapy and treatment plans draw from established clinical methods, including ABA, structured speech-language protocols, and sensory integration techniques. Approaches without a clinical evidence base are not used.
Patient-Centric & Child-Centered Personalized Care
- Patient-Centric & Child-Centered Personalized Care
Every plan, whether a child’s therapy programme or an adult’s hearing aid fitting, is built around that individual’s assessment results and daily context. The same diagnosis in two different patients does not produce the same plan.
End-to-End Support & Guidance
- End-to-End Support & Guidance
Support continues beyond the first session or the first fitting. Parents receive coaching to reinforce therapy at home. Hearing aid patients receive follow-up appointments, recalibrations, and ongoing maintenance throughout their use of the device.
